London Fashion Week, Best in quotes.

What I have to say about London Fashion Week? This time, I just don't want to tell you the same story about the new creativity of London or about where Alexa is sitting. I just want let the other speak!

"It's about making up your life" said Moschino creative director Rossella Jardini before the show "You will see the nude tones and the eye and lipstick prints on dresses."
"Structural, rich in texture and entirely wearable, the high necklines, nipped-in waists and dramatically voluminous sleeves referenced the Victorian influence whilst techy fabrics and detailed digital prints kept things entirely modern."
(Lisa Niven, Vogue UK)

"For several seasons now, the Swedish label’s creative director Jonny Johansson has been thinking big . . . then bigger . . . then biggest. Blown-up proportions were used for parkas, wide pants, biker leathers, jean jackets, and sweatshirts"
(Mark Holgate on ACNE, Vogue US)

“There’s a crumbling decadence to the embellishment,” explained Williamson backstage of the broken-up, gemlike formations that looked more like accessories worn over shift dresses and tops. But it was the playful use of light layers and occasional graphic touches that made certain pieces stand out with a noticeably more contemporary feel."
(Esther Adams on Matthew Williamson, Vogue US)

"The antic spirit of creative director Emma Hill infused the show with playful fun. The giant “monster” drawings flanking the runway suggested a theme that was echoed in the shaggy yeti coats, jackets, and skirts in ginger or black goat fur"
(Hamish Bowles on Mulberry, Vogue US)

"Paul Smith has had a career-long design crush on clever-looking girls, who borrow their clothes from a man’s wardrobe. In this narrative, many facets of English psychology are involved. First off, Smith has been considering how the pattern of a paisley gentleman’s dressing gown can be updated. Answer: Make it into a silk coat, or a formal, tux-like blazer."
(Sarah Mower on Paul Smith, Vogue US)

"The clothes? A capsule collection of evening wear to give us just a taste of what we’ll see on the catwalk for her main collection in Paris the week after next, it was lustrous and feminine and just that little bit eccentric, as Stella tends to be. "
(Dolly Jones, Vogue UK)

Acne and Matthew Willamson are, as always, my absolute favourites. They fulfil my need for simplicity and glamour respectively.
Thanks for your comments by the way! I've replied to your questions on my blog xxx
